mom friends

I've known Michelle for over ten years. We went to (and then worked at) camp together and spent three years together at Wilfrid Laurier University. For two of those years we were neighbours and I spent part of almost every day at her house. Over the past couple of years we lost contact, but I was thrilled to recently learn that she had a baby about three weeks before Hannah was born (Isla is actually a Christmas baby!). It was so wonderful to see her and to catch up, and it was also amazing to talk to someone who was going through the same things as me with a new little one around. I'm not so into the idea of going to 'mom and baby' groups (forced, awkward friendships just because of the fact that we've both given birth? No thanks.), but I am so excited to have Michelle as my first 'mom friend'.
